I wish we could've seen more episodes of Terra being with the Titans (like the episode highlighting her and Raven) before the betrayal came. The impact would've been much heavier, imo. When I watched this, I mostly just felt bad for Beast Boy and Raven (to some extent). She redeemed herself in the end, but the only main bond that I felt she had is with Beast Boy. So while I get why the others were hurt, I didn't feel the weight of their pain as much when it comes to this part of the story. This is not me hating on this storyline or anything. Just my thoughts here. Because I still enjoyed watching what was showed.

Sen Fortres is just as bad as Anor Londo for one single reason: platforming. This game was not made for percise platforming, so every time it comes, it's plain bullshit, no matter the reward. Sen Fortres in particular has the pleasure to show me DS1 has a laufhable shading system. Like, those swinging axes would be double or tripple easier to dodge if they had fucking shadows. But they dont, so you can really calculate the distance between one another. That alone gives a very artificial level of difficulty that I can not give a pass. Also, the bolders reset after you changing direction... bullshit, I hate that, breaking the rules estableshed by the game up to that point for a yet another cheap death. Luckily for me, it only took me 3 attempts to get across this thing. Ans after memoricing the spacing between the axes, this place lost any and all challenge... i mean, if you have struggles with the very easily parryable and skipable snake people, then it will be hard. Also, fuck Boss Soul weapons, I had to fucking kill every single titanite demon in this area. Luckily I found trick to kill them easily (hugging their left side), but come on... and only enough demon titatine for one fully upgraded boss soul weapon? Bull-shit! Yeah, I know they made one reSpawning titanite demon BY ACCIDENT, but the demons here were closer.

Capra was one of those first roadblocks for me because it showed huge flaws in Dark Souls. One, the shortcut to go to lower burg is uncomfortable, the door blocks the stairs and you can fall to a death for no reason. Like, why is that pitfall even there? One of the many "because I fucking can" designs in DS1 which annoy the hell out of me. Two, the playable character is garbage. The guy takes his sweet time to walk, stand and thend obey your inputs. Yeah, yku can teqct to the dogs, but most of the time it won't feel like that. Three, Dark Souls is not hard is annoying. Capra Demon is not hard, js cheap. You pull the trick once and the entire magic of this fight crumbles, harming any and all replayablity and making this boss just a chore... like 80% of DS1 bosses. Four, fuck the camera. Five, why are runbacks even a thing? After passing the game 5 times I feel no use for them. Also, fuck caps, I took a endurecement only run and my stamina had a hard cap. Like why? Whats the fucking point of another 59 levels of endurance if they do fucking nothing. Why are there caps to begin? Ohh yeah, the fucking PvP. Ruining every fucking I touch. Also, this boss fight in particulas is bad at teaching, I assure you no one learnt the lesson you mentioned from this fight and the depths only are hard if you have a fucking weapon which claps with the wall, because, for some stupid reason, that is a thing in this game despite having no bussiness being here. Whatever, the depths are not bearly as claustrophobic as you make it sound. Or maybe it is a skill issue, and I was just naturally better at the game than others. Also, Blighttown, stupid place. Very very VERY annoying. Nostly empty too if it wasnt for power within and the ninja set. You only care about rhe boss here. And the Great Hollow alonf with Ashen Lake can be dumped into the filler dumpster too... useless zones.

I have never ever invisioned an idea of ranking Dark Souls' bosees based on their scrumptiousness, and I'm glad I've stumbled upon it. This is straight 🔥 edit: Carpa Demon is not only the best boss overall, it's the tastiest one!

FINALLY, someone gets blighttown! Something else I like about it is that, as you touched upon, it's a new type of challenge that the player hasn't encountered before. We're used to fighting all sorts of enemies by the time we right the first bell. So instead of trying to introduce variety with new enemy designs, they created a whole new type of threat by weaponizing the world against us. The trip from lower burg to blighttown is a descent into madness, where the world becomes an ever greater threat, both from the increasingly claustrophobic (and then inversely claustrophobic with blighttown's open air labyrinth) design, and you're distance from what you feel is "home". But the smartest move they made was doing almost everything they could, short of spelling it out for the player, to let players discover that blighttown is a test you only ever have to take ONCE. A lightbulb went off for me when I realized the exit was right under firelink shrine, and my suspicions were all but confirmed when Domhnall shows up with the master key for sale. From that point on, the player knows that every subsequent playthrough can start with the master key (2 separate ways! As a starting gift or by choosing the thief class) and just cut to the end of blighttown. I feel like this gives blighttown the room to be the borderline survival horror experience it otherwise couldn't really be; not without throwing a massive speedbump into the game that would only prove tiresome once a player encountered it a second or third time and the initial magic wore off. Instead, we got tested in an incredibly unique way that Fromsoft hasn't really tried again since.
